Color Challenge & a Nice Surprise

I got a nice surprise when I opened the mail yesterday - a Christmas card from my friend Pat Domney!

 

Here's the card - isn't it beautiful? 

She used a set that retired a couple of years ago - I think it was called Peace on Earth.

Now - here's this week's color challenge - Green Galore, Ruby Red, and Night of Navy:

 

This was kind of a tough one, and the picture really doesn't do the card justice.  I find that when I do anything with a white background, the picture doesn't come out well.

Here are the supplies I used:

Stamps:  Snow Burst, All Holidays

Ink:  Green Galore, Ruby Red, Night of Navy

Paper:  Whisper White, Green Galore, Ruby Red, Night of Navy

Accessories:  1/8" punch, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Christmas Projects & Gift Ideas - Day 6

Today's beautiful ensemble comes from my dear friend Dana Gestwick (my belly misses you!!).  It includes 3 cards, a post-it note holder, and a coordinating pen - all with a matching purse to carry it in!!

Here are the supplies used to make the project:

1 - 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock scored at 4 1/2" and 1 1/4" (coordinate it to the DSP you are using).  Here, Dana used Baja Breeze and Green Tea DSP.

Cut the DSP to (2) 3 x 4 1/2" for the accent pieces on the front and back of the purse.

You will need a pen that you can insert a piece of paper into  so that it will coordinate with the purse (Pentel RSVP pen is what I use)

For the post it note holder, cut a piece of cardstock to 3 1/2 x 7 1/2" and score at 3 1/3 and 4".

Coordinating stamp sets for the cards and post it note holder, sticky strip, brads, punches, and ribbons for accents.

Christmas Projects & Gift Ideas - Day 5

ow - what a busy weekend!!  We had so much that we needed to get done around the house, that I had to take a couple days off from the computer!!  My youngest, Mikaela, sang at the German Market in town on Saturday (she takes German in school, so this was for extra credit!).  Then I had to color my hair, we had to drive the girls all over the place, and then we finally got a chance to decorate the house for Christmas.  I was so exhausted last night that I actually fell asleep on the couch watching Desparate Housewives!!  When Les tried to wake me up, he said that I must have been in the middle of a dream because I started talking and he couldn't understand a word I was saying!!

Anyway - back to today's project.  These adorable Holiday Place Cards come from my frienc Deb Krog. 

 

They are super simple to make, and can be changed for pretty much any occasion!

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Kiwi Kiss

This would be another great project to do with your kids!!  You could even have them write your guests names!!

Well, here's another super simple, really great idea courtesy of Kathryn Roberts.

Just use your Big Shot and Scallop Envelope Bigz Die to create a little pocke for the gift card inside your standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" card!!

Mygirls are always making music "mixes" for each other and their friends.  It seems that one girl buys a CD, and then she copies it for all of her friends!!  Or, they download a bunch of music from the Internet, and then burn a copy for everyone!!

Here is a great packaging idea for those CD's from Jen Peel - and it's really adorable too!!

 This would be great to give the gift of holiday music!!  Or how about the photos that you took during the Holiday season!!

Good Morning, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!  I don't know about you, but I had Thanksgiving here this year, and I haven't even been able to THINK about Christmas until now!!  I am ready now to jump in to the holiday season, and I am also feeling very creative this year.  I'll be making a lot of my gifts this year, and and I've got some really great ideas from some fellow demonstrators.

So, today begins my Christmas Projects and Gift Idea Series. Each day for the next couple of weeks, I will post a project here that you can re-create at home or maybe inspire you to make some holiday gifts with friends or family.
