Shimmery Pastels

Here's a fun project that we did at our last Techniques Class, it's called Shimmery Pastels.

It may sound fancy, but it's really very easy.  You just sponge any one of the Shimmer Paints on Whisper White card stock, let dry, then dauber on Stampin' Pastels.  You can use multiple Pastels to get the desired effect.

Stamps:  En Francais, Baroque Motifs

Card Stock:  Perfect Plum, Sahara Sand, Whisper White

Ink:  Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum

Accessories:  Stampin' Pastels, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Basic Pearls, Punches:  Medium Oval, Scallop Oval, Scallop Trim Border, Stampin' Dimensionals

Homemade Shimmer Spray

Today's sample we made at our last Techniques Class.  In this class, we used Shimmer Paint in a few different ways.

For this card, we mixed Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with alcohol in a small spritz bottle.  Shake well, and spritz on your card stock.  The alcohol dries quickly leaving a shimmer on the card stock.

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel

Card Stock:  Certainly Celery, Early Espresso

Ink:  Certainly Celery, Early Espresso

Accessories:  Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint

Faux Mother of Pearl

Here's a card that we made at our last Technique Class.  It's called the Faux Mother of Pearl techniques.

All the techniques that we learned at the last class involved the Shimmer Paints.  For this card, we used the Frost White Shimmer Paint, and sponged it onto Glossy White card stock.  Then, we lightly sponged on Baja Breeze and Rose Red ink.  The picture really doesn't do the card justice.  When you see the card up close, it really does look like Mother of Pearl.

Stamps:  Elements of Style

Card stock:  Rose Red, Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Glossy White

Ink:  Baja Breeze, Rose Red, River Rock, Staz-On

Accessories:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Punches - 3/4" & 1" Circle, Satin Ribbon - Pretty in Pink, Vintage Trinkets, Blender Pens.

Sale-A-Bration Winding Down

As Sale-A-Bration comes to a close, I just wanted to share another SAB sample with you. 

This project incorporates several Sale-A-Brations products, as well as the technique Embedded Embossing.

Embedded Embossing is a simple technique that gives your projects a pretty amazing final result.  All I did for this card is punch the flowers out from the Ice Cream Parlor DSP, and adhere them to the Whisper White card stock.  Then, I ran the Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot using the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  It looks like the flowers are actually part of the white card stock!

New Catalog is Here!!

The new 2009 Spring/Summer Idea Book and Catalog is here, and of course, it is AMAZING!!

There are lots and lots of great new stamp sets, Designer Series Papers (including TEXTURED DSP's!), fun new accessories, new Big Shot Dies (if you don't have a Big Shot yet, you are definitely going to want one now!), and some really great new Decor Elements (including stencils!)!!
